Made using a completely different method from Kriek Lambic, Liefmans Cuvée-Brut is a combination of aged brown beer which is mixed with fresh, whole cherries and, after 12 months, is blended with Oud Bruin and Goudenband of different ages. The result is a well balanced, sweet and sour kriek of great complexity. The term 'Cuvée' stands in reference to the maturation and the blending of different vintages and 'Brut' to the fact that the beer is of a subdued sweetness.
