Swingers
Refreshing and sour, Swingers is proud to be the first ‘Dutch Gose’ on the market. We add grapefruit and lime peels along with Citra hops to give this beer a quirky character.

LEMON GOSE4%5IBU2015
The ultimate Summer beer! Someone had to brew it eventually, and we did it. No problemo. It’s refreshing and fruity, and we’re proud to say Swingers is the first ‘Dutch Gose’ on the market. We added grapefruit and lime peels along with Citra hops to give this beer its quirky character.

Reminiscent of sun, the beach and the fresh saltiness of the North Sea, Swingers is the perfect partner on the dance floor we call life. It’s low in alcohol but full of flavor. Fresh and sour, with some salty hints too. Like all our beers, it’s a different take on a familiar formula, and we encourage everyone to open their minds to others and start swinging. You never know what can happen.

It is extremely fresh and fruity given the grapefruit peel, lime peel and the Citra hops we added. Because we wanted to add saltiness to a light beer, a Gose-style beer was an obvious choice. Gose was once popular beer that has fallen into obscurity. Originating from a German town called Goslar – hence the name – it became popular in Leipzig at the end of the 19th century. The water from this area was used in brewing and was known for being slightly salty. Brewing a Gose was always on our bucket list given its funky character.

Malts | Pilsner Malt, Wheat Malt, Oat Malt.

Hops | Each batch varies

Yeasts | English Ale Yeast

Spicing | Sea salt, Grapefruit peel, Lime peel]]></c:value>

Okay maybe it is a little complicated, but all the best things are. Here’s what we thought: Why choose for just one kind of beauty when you can have the best of both worlds, or all the worlds, if you will. And we willed. Because sometimes in an unexpected combination of things lies a delightful synthesis. If you’re open to experiment and to new influences, you might even surprise yourself.

A certain kind of beauty we thoroughly enjoy is that of a nice juicy fruit. We wanted to bring an ode to that beauty. Fruit is not something we use too often, so we decided to pick the juiciest fruit we could think of. And who’s a nice juicy fruit? That’s right. It’s the mango. The mango is a nice juicy fruit. The color, the shape, the smell, the taste – why do other fruits even bother? Of course, the mango became the leading motif of our poly-love affair.

We are always looking for something. Something to titillate our senses in an unfamiliar way. Being open to new tastes is how we discovered our Polyamorie. It’s a perfect blend of a Berliner Weiße and a US style Pale Ale. It’s the beer we made to satisfy our sour buds, but with much surprising tropical fruit flavors induced by the mango, and the Citra and Amarillo dry hops add a subtle bitterness. We have made sour beers in the past, but this is the one we surely want you to meet. It’s an experimental beer like you’ve never tried before – with freaking mango.

Our Polyamorie is here to facilitate all your desires. After all, pleasure is the ultimate rebellion.]]></c:value>

Thai Thai is the culmination of experimental efforts in our very early days. It’s a real home brewing fairytale, complete with four hard working dwarves, a magic potion and a beautiful princess.

Back in the days of kitchen-brewing, we were mostly creating dry, hoppy beers. Until one day, Paul’s girlfriend, who was not a ‘hophead’ like us, suggested we’d make her something that she liked. When it comes to brewing a beer with unexpected ingredients, we’ll try anything once. So at her suggestion, we decided to go for a sweet, spicy beer using ginger.

Sweet and spicy are a winning combination in Thai cuisine, that we knew. So one trip to the local market in Amsterdam’s Chinatown gave us all the sensory inspiration we needed. Initially there to buy ginger, we ended up buying everything but. Our basket filled up with things that smelled nice and looked pretty, like striking red chili peppers, coriander, pungent lemongrass, oranges and galangal root. (fair enough, ginger’s silly cousin).

Because we use Belgian Abbey yeast strain, with this beer we approach the Belgian beer tradition of the Tripel. But of course, we tried to twist the rules a little and expand the boundaries of the tradition. Of course our starting point was a basic Belgian Tripel recipe, where yeast contributes a fruity flavor. We added Pilsner malts and some American hop varieties at the end of the boil to enhance the citrus flavors. But then we added galangal root, lemongrass, coriander, chili pepper and orange peel and it turned into more than a Belgian Tripel, and became an exciting, spicy Thai dish trapped in a beer!

It’s a real adventure to taste – it’s familiar, yet surprising, and complex, yet inviting. Expect the unexpected. Power to the herbs!
