The World Beer Cup® is the brewing world's Olympics, so to win a medal, Scott put our super-popular India Pale Ale on steroids and created XIPA. This bigger, brawnier incarnation went on to win gold. Even though the XIPA has more malt, hops and alcohol (7.5%) than it's "unjuiced" sibling, it can't be disqualified from being recognized as one of the world's great beers.
