C, Roman numeral for 100, is a quintuple barrel aged Triple Bock brewed with our VA brothers Pen Druid Brewing. Inspired by a cellared bottle of Triple Bock from Sam Adams and historical references including Charlie Papazian’s Microbrewed Adventures, we recreated and refined the recipe to fit our profile. Brewed in the Fall 2021, lagered 6 weeks, then aged 53 months across five rounds of barrels:
- 1st Aging: Willett Bourbons
- 2nd Aging: Sam Adams Utopias
- 3rd Aging: Laird’s Apple Brandy
- 4th Aging: Utopias
- 5th Aging: Utopias again.
Our highest ABV release at 22.5%, built to age for up to 100+ years, with notes of sticky honey, moist Medjool dates, layered brandy, milk chocolate covered caramel, Cognac soaked oak and cinnamon roll center. Drinks more like an English Barleywine, but fully rooted in the spirit of the original Sam Adams Triple Bock.
