The Shipyard Brew Crew is at it again. The idea of Shipyard Estival was born on a late winter day in Maine when the Brew Crew was longing for summer and had just begun their first batch of this year’s Shipyard Summer Ale. The brewers decided to fill several French oak tequila barrels with this first brew of Summer Ale and after two months of aging, the result was Estival.
This limited release brew is an ode to summer in Maine and pairs well with sunshine, beaches and yard games. This beer is best enjoyed on a patio with a lime wedge. It will be available in Maine only, on draft and in 12 oz bottles, at select retailers and at the Shipyard Brewery Store on Newbury Street in Portland.
This beer will be featured during the Shipyard Eliot Fest to be held at the Shipyard Brew Pub & Restaurant in Eliot, Maine on June 26 and 27 and at select Maine brew festivals this summer.
Shipyard Estival will bring the best of the Mexican Rivera to your Maine based patio. The two month long aging process infused Shipyard’s traditional wheat Summer Ale with light tequila and toasted oak flavors, leaving a refreshing combination that will satisfy anyone looking to relish in the warmth of summer.

Sabor com notas predominantes de tequila, carvalho, cítrico de tangerina de seus lúpulos Saphir e pão branco. Retrogosto seco com um amargor de leve a médio e uma nota de agave que perdura.
Corpo leve em direção a médio com uma carbonatação um tanto efervescente.
Eu tinha baixas expectativas com esta cerveja dado o rótulo tipo Cancun e a idéia que uma American Wheat em barricas de tequila poderia resultar em uma má experiência. Mas resultou-se gratificante; a tequila não foi exagerada e não pareceu artificial. A tangerina do lúpulo Saphir pareceu fresca e adaptou-se bem à receita.
